Whats the motivation to enter a new and competitive category such as home audio?
As an independent, successful, engineering-driven company, we are uniquely positioned to bring a new high standard to these categories without suffering many of the pitfalls that plague start-ups and brand re-packagers. There are some very good brands out there and we do not underestimate the challenge, but we have done our homework and feel that we are on track with our goals. One significant advantage that we offer our dealers is a brand confidence developed more than a decade ago with our customers who have grown up loyal to the JL Audio brand in their vehicles and watercrafts. As these consumers purchase homes and raise families their passion for great audio transfers to the home, and we have brand equity pre-established with them. We are not merely asking our dealers to exchange dollars that would otherwise be spent with brands in the home audio marketplace; rather we are adding new customers to the mix.
