What’s the most intriguing thing happening in science today?
RD: On the experimental level, the likelihood that small RNAs hold the key to understanding development at a whole new level, and could be used as novel, highly specific, therapeutic molecules (see Judy Lieberman’s presentation in the Chemical Biology e-Briefing, for example). On the social level, the struggle to bring minorities underrepresented in science to participate at all levels. It will be the final frontier in civil rights.
