Whats the most egregious event in recent U.S. political history?
You know, I find it interesting that people are upset about Alito’s reaction to an outright lie, but they aren’t upset with Obama for lying about the nature of the ruling in question. This is what the President read, “With all due deference to separation of powers, last week the Supreme Court reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests –- including foreign corporations –- to spend without limit in our elections. I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities.” The lie here is that the ruling in question had absolutely nothing to do with foreign funding of political campaigns and that it overturned 100 years of law. Neither of these things are the case.
