Whats the most defensive tactic in chess?
Hello; I am not a big fan of defense/offense comparisons in chess. Good moves have both offensive and defensive consequences. One might even say that the best defense is a strong offense. There are no “non-risky” tactics! Having said all that … there is an opening for black that is based on hard core defense moves. It is called the Hippopotamus Defense. I have tried it on occasion and I score a very nice win with it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippopotamu⦠Youtube has some excellent chess lesson videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IMWNR-oJ⦠Gens Una Sumas Bill P.S.
