Whats the most common brain tumor in a 13 year old male?
Brain tumours are not very common in young people. In fact, each year, only 2200 children in the United States are found to have a brain tumour as compared to nearly 180,000 adults as reported by the American Brain Tumor Association. Tumours can be non cancerous (benign) or cancerous (malignant). Most are benign. Treatment usually involves having surgery to remove the tumour. Most benign brain tumours can be surgically removed. Tumours do not normally come back once they have been removed and no further problems are caused.
