Whats the most absorbent fabric?
Out of the hemp fabrics, the french terry and the fleece are our most absorbent fabrics. They are nearly identical in absorption as they’re both the same fabric – the looped side of the terry is brushed to make fleece. Following hemp french terry and hemp fleece is stretch terry, which is followed by hemp jersey, ribbing and muslin. Bamboo fabric is about even with the hemp fabrics for absorption and cotton is the least absorbent out of the three fibres. Wool is the most absorbent natural fibres but is more popular as a cover than a nappy due to the washing and drying times.
