Whats the major difference between team ownership in NASCAR and IRL?
In NASCAR, the quality teams run a little deeper today than they do in any other series of racing. The quality of the drivers is deeper. I wouldn’t say they’re better, it’s just that there is more depth. With Indy Car racing, there’s a small sweet spot and a few teams in that sweet spot. In NASCAR, that sweet spot is much larger and almost every team is in the sweet spot — or they don’t stay in too long. How do you think you differ from other team owners? So many people I meet in racing are NASCAR people or Indy Car people or sports car people. Me, I like to cover all that so I have a different view than most. I really, really enjoy the sport of racing, the fellowship — that’s the nice thing about it. It’s not just about NASCAR and being on television.
