Our MP, Linda Waltho, will plant a tree to remind us of the stories of women like Mairam Djiby Diallo from Senegal. You will also be celebrating a birthday, enjoying a coffee morning, hearing Charlotte Marshall from Christian Aid talking about its work and also…. possibly experiencing a “musical interlude”! Do join the celebration! Mairam Djiby Diallo lives in northern Senegal an area which is becoming desert due to climate change. But Christian Aids’ partner USE runs tree planting seminars there and Mairam has learnt how to grow mango saplings which will give her a better diet and also fruit to sell.
