Whats the idea behind the ban on out-of-state claims adjusters?
Claims adjustors are the key person that gets involved that works directly with the survivor. This person needs a substantial amount of training and expertise. So California law requires those people to be licensed by the Department of Insurance in order to do their job. Now just because you bring in out-of-state claims adjustors, that doesn’t mean that the insurance company isn’t fully responsible for them. So this emergency declaration is only for 180 days and still puts full responsibility on the insurance company to supervise the activities of these claims adjustors. So that was done.
