What’s the idea behind having two sounds per line?

0

We put two sounds per line to create a richer musical palette. You can either have eight different instruments playing your piece (two per line), or you can blend together sounds to compensate for the strengths and weaknesses of MIDI sounds. For example, the MIDI Flute sound has a sharp attack but the sustain is not particularly flute-like. You can create a more flute-like sustain by blending in some of the Pad (Warm) sound on the same line as the flute sound. This trick works well for most brass and wind sounds.
