What’s the history of the ‘Silver Bullet’ (Coors Light)?
The first Coors Light can looked much like the Coors Banquet can with the traditional yellow/cream color with red lettering. Coors later changed it and went with a silver can with black, red and white graphics. The customers dubbed the can…The Silver Bullet. The beer is not the Silver Bullet….it is the can. On the current label on the bottle, there is no mention of Silver Bullet, however on each can produced by RMMC/Coors or Ball Metal, who produces 24 oz cans… the Silver Bullet is on the can. RMMC/Coors is the largest can producing plant in the World and is located in Golden near the brewery. RMMC is a joint venture between Coors and Ball Metal, who is the largest producer of cans in the World. Bill Coors is known as the father of the aluminium can who began selling beer in cans in 1959. Coors opened the Coors Container Company in the early 1970’s which evolved into the current Rocky Mountain Metal Container. RMMC provides cans to the Golden brewery as well and the new brewery i
