What’s the Graduate English Society (GES)?

0

All grad students are looked after by the graduate student society (SGPS) when it comes to health/dental plan, advocacy, and a variety of other services (http://www.sgps.ca/), but every English grad is also automatically a member of the Graduate English Society, which does its own things to keep the English grad community strong and organized. It has its own constitution, elections, monthly meetings, causes, events, and so on. See http://www.queensu.ca/english/ges/index.htm for more information. Everyone is encouraged to take up some role in the GES because the English grad community is only as strong as the participation its members put into it. If you have any other questions, just send them to the GES New Student Liaison (listed here on the GES Executive page) and s/he’ll both answer them and, if they’re FAQ-worthy, put them up here.
