Whats the fuss with player-killing?
A distinction should be drawn between player-killing (PKing) and PvPing. PKing generally implies non-consensual player-killing while PvPing implies player-killing with some level of consent between the participants. PvPing then is generally accepted as having a vital place in the game. There is more debate over the role of non-consensual PKing in the game. Not everyone agrees. They never will. But with the newest patch (UO:R), this may have become a problem of the past (for the killed) and a nostalgic memory (for the killers). We’ll see how this actually works out. *UO:R brought about the lands of Trammel and Felucca. In Felucca, PvP can happen without warning, and PKs can attack you without provocation. In Trammel, PvP is consensual, so no sneak attacks, unless an enemy guild member happens to be around. The lands of Ilshenar(from UO:TD) use the Trammel ruleset.
