Whats the evidence for client-centred therapy?
There’s some evidence that client-centred therapy helps panic disorder. But not as much as there is for some other treatments, such as antidepressants or cognitive behaviour therapy. We found two studies looking at client-centred therapy.[1] [2] They looked at client-centred therapy on its own and combined with another treatment called exposure therapy. The studies looked at 108 people in total. Both studies found that client-centred therapy was helpful.[1] [2] But it’s not clear whether having client-centred therapy on its own is better than having it combined with exposure therapy.References Teusch L, Bohme H, Gastpar M.
