Whats the evidence for alpha-blockers?

0

There is some evidence that taking alpha-blockers helps to lower blood pressure as well as taking other drugs.[1] This evidence comes from a large summary of 15 studies. The studies included over 120,000 people. They looked at taking lots of different drugs, not just alpha-blockers. They found that all the drugs helped to reduce deaths from strokes and heart attacks. But taking diuretics seemed to offer greater protection against heart failure than taking alpha-blockers.References Staessen JA, Wang JG, Thijs L.
