Whats the dose of Tylenol, Motrin, or Benadryl for my child?
Remember, No Motrin until 6 months or older. Benadryl is also not usually used until at least 4 months of age. Tylenol is safe at any age. Tylenol is every 4 hours as needed for pain or fever. Motrin is every 6 hours as needed for pain or fever. They both work equally well for most people. It is safe to give both Tylenol and Motrin together if needed. Usually, you can start with Tylenol, and if the fever isn’t down in an hour or two, you can add Motrin. Benadryl is every 4 hours as needed for congestion.
