Whats the differences between single and three phase electricity connection.Which is economically cheap?

0

In a single phase electricity, only one phase & neutral used to use the load and single phase in India & Asia is of 220V/50Hz. It can be used reasonably in houses, small offices etc. But 3phase is of 415V/50Hz and is useful for heavy load on it and hence is used in industries, big buldings, hospitals where pumps, lifts and other heavy load are used in line. In the angle of production & transmission 3ph. is economical than 1phase as single phase can not be transmitted to long distances. Single phase could be terminated at end user side for use only.
