Whats the difference or benefit to FreeWrite, MemoPad, or Documents to Go?
MemoPad is nice because it is built into the handheld. It is good for really short and usually personal things. “Have a great vacation.” “Here are the five things I learned today.” One bad thing is that they are tough to organize and they only can hold 4000 characters. FreeWrite is good for collaboration. It is easy to beam and combine work. It is also good for reports, note-taking, and essays. FreeWrite can store a tremendous amount of text–25 single spaced, typewritten pages! Documents to Go and other commercial word-processing software is great for finished reports instances where formatting is extremely important. One thing to watch out for is that most commercial software has copy protection which is fine when you are one person using one desktop, but when 30+ students share one desktop, sometimes trouble arises. Practice with the advanced word-processors before using them with your students on a major project. – Report a Problem – Return to Question List – Will I be able to use
