There is a huge difference in Chevrolet Corvette Z06 prices and technology, introduced in 2005, and the ZR1, introduced in 2008. According to Chevrolet, the current Z06, powered by its 505 horsepower aluminum small-block engine, is available for $74,305. The more technically advanced ZR1, powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged engine that puts out 620 horsepower, is mated to a close-spaced six-speed transmission, and uses huge 20-inch rear wheels and 19-inch front wheels. It carries a manufacturer’s suggested price of more than $105,000. The difference is easy to see. At their current prices, the difference between the Z06 and the ZR1 is more than $30,000.
