A. At present there are two different modems available: The 33.6k modem, which comes with the Japan version and PAL version DC and; The 56k modem, which comes with the US version. As the difference in numbers suggests, the 56k modem can transfer data faster than the 33.6k modem and therefore will bring up pictures and pages faster and have less lag time for online gaming.
