What’s the difference in an agent and a personal manager?
Although both agents and managers function similarly at times and are essentially one in the same in many cases, a simple distinction between the two can be made by understanding that agents negotiate and service employment contracts, while managers engage in advising clients on their presentation of their given talent, career direction, introductions into the areas of casting direction, etc. They are responsible for the overall management of their clients actual career and business in a total advisory capacity. Many agencies combine the two simply because they are so similar in roles anyway.
