Whats the difference between whole food nutritional supplements and isolated or synthetic nutritional supplements?
Whole food supplements are what their name suggests: they are highly complex structures that combine a variety of enzymes, coenzymes, antioxidants, and other phyto nutrients that work synergistically together in the body. Synthetic or isolated nutrients are not natural. They are not found in nature by themselves. Taking these nutrients in high doses are like taking a drug. For an isolated supplement to work properly in the body it needs all the other parts that are naturally present in food.
