Whats the difference between trash fish and game fish?
Even for fishermen who have been fishing for years, knowing the difference between trash fish and game fish can be a little confusing. It becomes even more confusing when we talk to people in different states or countries and learn that there is a wide variation; a game fish in one state can often be a trash fish in another. Compounding this even further, sometimes the term ‘trash fish’ isn’t actually used to describe the fish species. Even the phrase can be misleading since it implies that the fish in question has no worth at all. This is rarely the case.
