Whats the difference between THEA and COMPASS?
They are equivalent, so they measure the same skills at the same level, and a student may take either test. THEA is offered on a predetermined schedule throughout the year and students may register by mail, internet or phone. OC’s Testing Center also offers “Quick THEA” once a month. Please contact the Testing Center at 432-335-6620 for dates and additional information. THEA is a paper and pencil test and sections may be taken in any order. There is no time limit on any section and students have a maximum of five hours in which to complete the entire test. THEA scores are mailed approximately two weeks following the test date. COMPASS is offered through the Testing Center every weekday morning on a drop-in basis. Students must begin the COMPASS before 11 am Monday through Thursday and before 8 am on Fridays.
