Whats the difference between the UK Pop Idol and the X Factor in the UK?
Pop Idol stopped about 5 years ago and like a year later the X factor started, they are pretty much the same set up but the X factor includes anyone over the age of 14 and groups. The judges (simon Cowell, Louis walsh, Cheryl cole and dannii minouge) also mentor one of four categories that the acts are put into per year (Over 25s, groups, under 25 girls, under 25 boys)anyone of the 12 acts in the start of the live shows can win it, one act is evicted per week. Its like american idol but groups can audition and simon cowell is exactly the same on it!
