Whats the difference between the traditional (formal) wedding photography and photojournalism?
Traditional wedding photography utilizes staged and posed settings to produce “formal” pictures. This technique usually employs a tripod and additional lighting. Each shot is set up with a high level of attention. Formal shots are desirable especially for pictures of wedding parties, and family and friends from out-of-town that don’t usually get together. The down side to all traditional photography during an event is, the photographer is always interfering with the event. This is necessary as the photographer has pose and setup every shot. Usually there is a time set aside during the event where traditional (formal) photos are taken.
