Whats the difference between the symptoms of food poisoning and the 24hr bug?
There is often no way to tell without having lab work done. Food poisoning can last longer than 24 hours though. I had food poisoning last January and I was very sick with severe vomiting every hour or even more often for about 12 hours, then just mildly sick for about 12 hours without vomiting, then diarrhea for about 12 hours, then just generally weak and not feeling well for about 12 hours. But even different forms of food poisoning have different patterns, depending on the microorganism involved.
