Whats the difference between the Quality Settings on the General Tab and those on the Advanced Tab in Preferences?
The settings on the General tab change the motion estimation algorithm used and whether iVI uses one or two pass encoding (this decreases the speed of the conversion & increases quality but doesn’t change the file size). The Advanced tab changes the bitrate (adjusts the file size and quality). It possible we should merge the two together somehow but the right tradeoff isn’t obvious. One of the most requested features for iVI is to reduce video sizes and so the bitrate option provides a simple way to do that.
