Students applying to the Master’s programs may take either the MAT or the GRE. Both tests are offered at the University Testing Center (581-8744). The MAT focuses on English language vocabulary and concepts and tests analytical ability. The MAT is offered every Tuesday and Thursday at the University Testing Center. Register at least two days in advance. The MAT takes about an hour to complete, and scores take up to six weeks for our department to receive. The GRE is a national test that covers verbal, analytical, and quantitative knowledge. It is offered at the University Testing Center and many other higher education institutions. The University Testing Center offers the GRE Monday through Saturday, call for times and registration. You should register at least two months in advance. The GRE takes up to four hours to take. The GRE is computerized so you can see your score immediately, but be aware that it may take up to six weeks for our department to receive your scores.
