Whats the difference between the Main Stage shows and the J&M Series shows?
The J&M series was started in Summer of 2007 to allow libraries and schools, desperately underfunded as they are, to afford to hire us. If you can afford a Main Stage show, we would, of course, rather you went with them. But …. Main Stage shows are definitely 40 – 45 minutes. They have 3 or 4 live talent (actors and actresses) in them, and don’t always have any puppets in them at all. All of them have audience volunteers brought up on stage with the cast. The rest of the audience is lead through answering questions, making noises and, often, doing some pantomime, right where they are. The plays don’t always have sing along songs included. (The Santa plays always do. To prerecorded music.) … J&M shows can be a bit shorter. Some of them are only 35 – 40 minutes. They only have 2 live talent (usually the biggest item on our play budgets). When we need to, we make up for that with puppets. We don’t always bring audience members on stage with us.
