Whats the difference between the Leans and Sub-Threshold Stimulation?
The leans are what it is, sub-threshold stimulation is what causes it. The “leans” are a false sensation of roll attitude. It is the most commonly reported manifestation of spatial disorientation. It is most frequently associated with recovery from a coordinated turn to level flight when flying by instruments, the “leans” is caused by sub-threshold stimulation of the semicircular canals during a sustained angle of bank, followed by an abrupt recovery from the turn.
