Whats the difference between the Full Marathon and Half Marathon training schedules? Which schedule is right for me?

Our Full Marathon training is targeted for the San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. Our Half Marathon training is targeted for the OC Half Marathon. The Full Marathon schedule quickly increases the distances of the runs over the first five weeks (an increase of 2 miles per week). The schedule is geared toward experienced runners who have built up a solid training base. The Half Marathon schedule increases the distances of the runs more slowly (one mile per week). It’s better suited for new runners, and for those that haven’t run medium to long distances for a while. The Full and Half Marathon groups will often start their runs together, and run along the same trail. The Half Marathoners will just turn back sooner.
