• The SE is the entry-level Wrangler, and it comes with a 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine. (Model years before 2003 had a 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine.) It is apparently also available with a 4.0 liter six-cylinder engine, though I’m not sure if dealers ever stock this. • The X model is new for 2003. It comes with a 4.0 liter six-cylinder engine. This appears to be Jeep’s vehicle to appeal to people who want a six-cylinder engine, but who want a less expensive vehicle than the Sport. • The Sport model also has a six-cylinder engine. It has a number of options available, such as a Dana 44 axle, 3.73 rear axle ratio, a 30 inch tire package, and many other options not otherwise available on the X. It also comes with a higher price tag than the X. • The Sahara model has been Jeep’s top-of-the-line model for interior comforts and accessories.
