Whats the difference between the core and wider development group?
The core group of demonstration projects received specialist consultancy support from NIACE/LSDA, backed up by the involvement of local LSC representatives and some project funding from the National Quality Development Fund. They were expected to implement the Staged Process across some or all of their provision and contribute fully to the evaluation of the projects. Providers in the wider development group have been supported by their local and the National LSC. They could choose to try implementing selected elements of the Staged Process in or particular types of provision within their institution. Alternatively they could review their own provision against the demands of the Staged Process and plan what would be needed to move towards full implementation. Networking and sharing of practice was an important part of the work of the wider development group and will be encouraged during the implementation phase.
