What’s the difference between the Book Chart and the Editor’s Desk?
top of page… The Book Chart displays which books have been most recommended by authonomy’s visitors over the last 7 days – it’s a live view of what’s popular right now. You can filter the genre, or view recommendations over a different time period, if that’s what you want to see. Every time a member adds a book to their public bookshelf, authonomy counts that as a recommendation – and rewards the book appropriately in the rankings. The Editor’s Desk, meanwhile has a very specific role of displaying which titles are likely candidates for review by the HarperCollins editorial board. The rankings in this chart are determined by the total number of members who have recommended the book since it was first uploaded to the site – but books that have previously been read by HarperCollins are stripped out.
