What’s the difference between supertrawler vessels, purse-seine vessels, and reefer vessels?
Factory vessels or otherwise known as supertrawlers, are fishing vessels with a huge factory onboard. Typically, they measure approximately 100 metres in length and are stationed out on the high-seas for up to 9 months at a time. Equipped with sonar fish finding technology, our supertrawlers harvest, on-board process, freeze and pack ocean-fresh catches. Transportation vessels or otherwise known as reefer vessels collect our supplies from our supertrawlers and deliver supplies to customers worldwide. At the same time, reefer vessels will transport fuel, food, water, and other processing requirements to our supertrawlers. Purse-seine fishing vessels operate on a daily cycle and return to shore once its storage capacity is full. Purse-seiners are much smaller than supertrawlers, and measure approximately 19 – 30 metres in length.
