What’s the difference between STASAM and STASEQ?
STASAM is a random sample procedure that calculates the number of items to be counted using the item values (quantity * price). After counting the randomly-selected items, a value-based extrapolation is conducted across the entire stock value and compared with the stock book value. STASEQ requires higher inventory security than STASAM. With STASEQ, 30 items are selected randomly and compared with the counted quantities. If no deviation is found, inventory is then complete (yes/no decision without considering the value).
