Whats the difference between something being objective, as opposed to subjective?

Objective means something is based on observable fact: “The sun is in the sky”. You can observe for yourself that this is true. Subjective is based on interpretation of a fact or facts: “The sun is brighter than it was yesterday”. While you may indeed have reliable measurements to quanitify this opinion, it is subjective until you present evidence.

An objective point of view is from the outside, and unrelated “strangers opinion”. Subjective is from the inside, for exemple by saying my relationship with my dad isn’t so good, would be a subjective opinion because I’m involved… But if a stranger came and said you seem to get along really well with your dad, that would be an objective statement.
