Whats the difference between “Skeptic” and “Denier”?

0

For one thing, deniers are not driven at all by scientific evidence. They will completely ignore science if it works against their politically driven beliefs. On the other hand, if they can find one scientist in a thousand that supports their belief, they will look on the scientist as he’s bringing down the word of God on tablets (they may LITERALLY believe that). It’s pretty easy to spot deniers, they absolutely hate Gore, Hansen and Mann and will usually call anyone that believes AGW as liberal, or socialist, or whatever. They won’t believe experts in the field if they do not like their conclusions–even if they do not have the scientific training to evaluate what the expert is saying. It’s good to be skeptical, but if you don’t understand the science and just say that someone is wrong because it violates your pet beliefs, then you’re a denier. EDIT: Andy says that people that believe in AGW think there’s no difference between the two. This is wrong–frankly, I’m always quite skeptic
