Whats the difference between SHRI and the Iowa Cancer Registry?
There is no difference. In the year 1979, the Iowa Cancer Registry (ICR) changed its name from the State Cancer Registry of Iowa to the State Health Registry of Iowa (SHRI) in anticipation of possible future applications of registry data collection techniques to the formation of other registries such as birth defects, genetic disorders, accidents or trauma, and Alzheimer’s disease. Under the umbrella of the SHRI, the ICR has actively sought other collaborative arrangements where the data and personnel expertise of the Registry might be of assistance.
