Whats the difference between SDTV and HDTV?
There are two main forms of digital TV, Standard Definition TV (SDTV) and High Definition TV (HDTV). SDTV is a noticeably clearer and crisper than analog television with a resolution of 525 interlaced scanning lines. HDTV has even better resolution of up to 1125 interlaced scanning lines. More pixel density gives a more consistent-looking, clearer picture. HDTV pictures are also wide screen format 16:9 aspect ratio (16 units wide for every 9 units high) compared to current 4:3 aspect ratio. Another feature of HDTV is movie theater quality, multi-channel digital sound.
