Whats the difference between regular high school classes and CHS classes?
CHS classes are much smaller than traditional high school classes; grading and assessment are designed to measure what students know and can do and give them credit for it, rather than penalizing them for what they dont know and cant do. Hands-on instruction, backed up by the best in available technology, characterize our classrooms. Emphasis is on teaching concepts and thinking skills, decision-making and creative problem-solving, in an environment based on collaboration and cooperative teamwork. Students have some input in developing their own learning experiences and setting their own project parameters, and the results are displayed in showcase portfolios which students demonstrate as part of their grade.
