Whats the difference between real-time tracking and upload/download?

Real-Time tracking lets you view your vessels position real time. As our software receives data from your GPS, it will update your boats position on the chart. Upload/download is the process of sending/receiving routes, waypoints and tracks between our software and your GPS. Upload/download is not supported for all GPSs (see manual for supported models).
