Whats the difference between rats, mice and African soft haired rats/multimammates?

rats and mice have both been domesticated longer than multis so tend to be more people friendly and tame. Rats are obviously much larger than mice so need a larger cage. Rats smell more than mice, but neither should be a problem if cleaned out frequently. Rats are easier to tame than mice and seem to enjoy being handled much more. More variation in coat types/colours/patterns in mice than rats. Mice are cheaper to feed as they eat less Mice are, in my opinion, more interesting to watch than rats. It depends on what you want out of a pet and how much space you have as to which is best for you. I would love to have rats but I don’t want a huge wire cage in my living room and I know I would get fed up with constant cleaning, so I keep mice because realistically they suit me better.
