Whats the difference between Podcasting and Webcasting?
Delivering audio content over the Web has been around practically since the inception of the Internet. Making audio available on Websites, either as a link to a separate file, or embedded in Web pages, is often referred to as Webcasts. Podcasts can do the same thing, except with special coding, they can also be sent directly to someone’s computer, audio-ready PDA or Podcast-ready cell phone if they have “subscribed” to receive the Podcast automatically. They can plug in their portable player to their computer, using either an iPod or other MP3 Player, and transfer the Podcast to the player so they can take it with them. This can be done overnight, for example, making the downloaded Podcasts available anytime for playback on their portable player or their computer.
