What’s the difference between piano & keyboards?
Piano includes traditional, acoustic pianos in all their sizes and shapes, and also usually digital electronic pianos. (Purists feel that digital pianos should be considered electronic keyboards). They all have 88 weighted keys, unless you’re lucky enough to own a Bosendorfer with even more than 88. (In which case, may I recommend the 3 hour, every day of the week lesson package). Keyboards include a wide variety of electronic keyboards. They may be simple, non-programmable home keyboards, with or without a large variety of sounds. They might be fully programmable synthesizers or samplers, or workstations which are keyboards with a built-in recording ability. The keys may be weighted or unweighted, and generally come in 3 sizes: 61 keys, 73 keys, and 88 keys.
