What’s the difference between PHC Prep and PHC Distance Learning?
First, you’ll find a difference in purpose and content level. With PHC Prep Academy, you get high school courses with first-year college-level content that are designed for students planning to take AP Exams. Patrick Henry College’s Distance Learning courses are typically part of an undergraduate degree—and students also dual enroll as “non-degree-seeking” students (you must be at least 16 years old)—and first-year courses are typically the equivalent of sophomore-level courses at other colleges. Second, you’ll find a difference in how the college credit is earned. PHC Prep courses give you the potential to earn college credit in a subject area; for a qualifying AP exam score, over 90% of US 4-year colleges award credit and/or advanced placement.
