Whats the difference between offset and digital printing?
Offset printing is where the inked image is transferred from a plate to a rubber blanket, then to the printing surface. Digital printing is the reproduction of digital images on a physical surface. It is a direct process, much like printing a file to your desktop printer, where the files are sent directly to the printer. With the Xerox iGen4 Digital Production Press we can calibrate to print to the same GRACoL settings as for an offset press. In fact, it is hard to discern a difference in color between offset and digitally printed pieces.
