What’s the difference between MVCC and a retirement community?
Unlike retirement communities, MVCC has no age limit and is explicitly recruiting younger members. Many of the current members are working full time and do not intend to retire in the forseeable future. Residents of a retirement community are in a setting designed by others for their care and comfort, within the bounds of rules and routines created by others. MVCC members are independent and self-governing; they expect to stay actively involved and contribute to creating a life of their own choosing. Living in MVCC will not be like moving into a hotel with concierge services; MVCC members will live in their own condominium-style houses.
