Whats the difference between low self esteem and a big ego?

0

Low self-esteem and having a “big ego” are actually very closely related. In our culture, the phrase “big ego” usually refers to someone who has too much pride, to the point where they seem arrogant or cocky. And usually people who act overly arrogant are insecure, because they are making up for how small they feel inside with their “big ego”. The lower a person’s self-esteem, the bigger their ego will seem to everyone else, because these people will go out of their way to try to inflate their ego. Having a big ego is an expression that has a different meaning than simply being happy with yourself. When you’re truly happy with yourself, people usually won’t notice your ego because you won’t be trying to flaunt it in order to inflate it more.
